Wase Strengthens Community Security as Anani Graduates 140 Officers, Deploys 25 Motorcycles, Two Hilux Vehicles
The Executive Chairman of Wase Local Government Area, Plateau State, Hon. Dr Hamisu Mohammed Anani, has reinforced efforts to improve grassroots security with the graduation of 140 officers of the Wase Rock Security Network Limited and the provision of 25 patrol motorcycles and two Toyota Hilux vehicles to support their operations.

The initiative is aimed at strengthening security surveillance, improving rapid response to emergencies and expanding operational coverage across communities within the local government area.

The graduation ceremony and presentation of operational vehicles attracted commendations from representatives of the Plateau State Government, Operation Rainbow, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and the Emir of Wase, who acknowledged the importance of community-based security initiatives in complementing existing security structures.

Representing Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, Hon. Usman Ephraim Gar commended Chairman Anani for what he described as a demonstration of foresight and responsible grassroots leadership.

He noted the significance of initiatives that strengthen community participation in security management and support efforts to protect lives and property.

In further recognition of his commitment to community security, Hon. Anani received an Award of Honour from the NSCDC Plateau State Staff College, Jos.

The development represents a significant investment in local security capacity, particularly at a time when effective collaboration between government institutions, conventional security agencies and community-based structures remains essential to addressing security challenges.

Beyond the provision of operational equipment, the graduation of 140 officers also provides an opportunity to strengthen local participation in security efforts and create a more coordinated response to threats within Wase.

However, the effectiveness of the initiative will ultimately depend on sustained training, proper supervision, operational accountability and effective collaboration with recognised security agencies.

With the graduation of the officers and deployment of additional patrol vehicles, the Anani administration has taken a practical step towards strengthening community security and promoting a safer environment for residents of Wase.
