IRAN UNVEILS BILLBOARD THREATENING TO KILL TRUMP AS TENSIONS WITH US ESCALATE

Iran has intensified its anti-American rhetoric after unveiling a massive billboard in Tehran explicitly threatening to kill United States President Donald Trump, even as diplomatic efforts continue to prevent a renewed outbreak of hostilities between the two countries.

The billboard, displayed on Tuesday at the busy Enghelab Square in the Iranian capital, carried the inscription, “We will kill Trump,” alongside an image of the US president behind bars with his head bowed.

The display was accompanied by banners and other anti-Trump installations across Tehran, marking a further escalation in the hostile public messaging directed at Washington.

According to reports by AFP, dozens of people gathered around the billboard, waving red flags and carrying banners bearing the message, “There will be blood.”

The gathering also featured calls for revenge over the killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, in US-Israeli strikes on February 28, which triggered a conflict that has spread across the Middle East.

Anti-Trump Displays Spread Across Tehran

The latest billboard is part of a series of public displays targeting Trump and other senior American and Israeli officials.

Another installation near Enghelab Square depicted Trump alongside US Vice-President JD Vance, special envoy Steve Witkoff and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, with their faces bloodied and suits torn against a backdrop of worn American and Israeli flags.

In northern Tehran’s Tajrish Square, an open-air exhibition featured paintings portraying Trump in humiliating situations.

One painting showed the US president lying face down on the ground with a foot pressing against his head, while another depicted a bomb obscuring his face.

A life-sized replica of a prison cell also remained on display, with an actor impersonating Trump spending the day inside. A nearby screen reportedly showed images of destruction caused by US strikes on Iran.

Diplomatic Efforts Continue Amid Hostile Rhetoric

The displays emerged amid renewed diplomatic efforts to bring Tehran and Washington back to negotiations and prevent a resumption of fighting.

Trump reportedly said a deal with Iran “could happen,” as diplomatic initiatives intensified against the backdrop of a conflict that has affected several countries across the region and contributed to rising global prices.

Iran has accused Trump of deliberately targeting civilian locations during the conflict, including a school and a wedding ceremony, with Iranian authorities alleging that the attacks killed dozens of people, including women and children.

The latest developments highlight the growing contrast between diplomatic efforts to ease tensions and the increasingly aggressive public messaging directed at the US president.

A Longstanding Feature of Iran’s Political Messaging

State-sponsored billboards and murals have been a prominent feature of Iran’s public spaces since the 1979 Islamic Revolution.

The displays have traditionally been used to celebrate military figures, honour political allies and communicate messages against perceived adversaries, particularly the United States and Israel.

However, the latest billboard’s explicit wording represents a particularly direct threat against a sitting US president.

While the public display demonstrates the intensity of anti-American sentiment in Tehran, it does not, by itself, establish evidence of an operational plan to assassinate Trump.

The development comes at a sensitive moment for US-Iran relations, with diplomatic efforts continuing to prevent further escalation of a conflict that has already had significant regional and economic consequences.
