Federal Polytechnic Bauchi Rector Gives Daughter's Hand in Marriage as Dignitaries Grace Wedding Fatiha.

Gombe, Nigeria — July 25, 2026

The ancient city of Gombe witnessed a remarkable gathering of eminent personalities on Saturday as family members, traditional rulers, government officials, academics, friends, and well-wishers assembled at the Gombe Central Mosque for the wedding Fatiha of Nafisat Sani Usman, daughter of the Rector of the Federal Polytechnic, Bauchi, Alhaji Sani Usman.

The solemn Islamic marriage ceremony was conducted in accordance with Islamic traditions, attracting a distinguished audience from across the country.

Representing the bride's family, the Chairman of the Governing Council of the Federal Polytechnic, Bauchi, Surveyor Mohammed Nadu Yahaya, MNI, formally gave the bride's hand in marriage to Mohammad Sani Wabili. The marriage was solemnized with a dowry of ₦250,000, amid prayers and blessings from Islamic scholars and guests.

The event served as a reunion for members of the Federal Polytechnic Bauchi community, with the institution's Governing Council members, Management Team, academic and non-academic staff, students, and associates turning out in large numbers to celebrate with the Rector and his family.

The atmosphere was filled with warmth, brotherhood, and goodwill as guests exchanged pleasantries and offered heartfelt prayers for the newlyweds. The gathering reflected the strong bond that exists within the Polytechnic community and underscored the respect enjoyed by the Rector among colleagues, associates, and the wider public.

Several dignitaries present used the occasion to congratulate the families of the bride and groom, describing marriage as a sacred institution that promotes family values, social harmony, and community development. They prayed for Allah's guidance, mercy, and abundant blessings upon the couple as they embark on their marital journey.

The wedding Fatiha concluded peacefully with prayers for lasting love, good health, prosperity, righteous offspring, and a successful union founded on faith, mutual respect, and understanding.
