Reward For Intelligence On Iran’s Nuclear Programme

US Offers $20 Million Reward For Intelligence On Iran’s Nuclear Programme

The United States has announced a reward of up to $20 million for information on Iran’s nuclear programme, including details of suspected nuclear facilities, equipment, scientific personnel and the movement of related materials.

The announcement was made by the US Central Command (CENTCOM), which disclosed that the State Department’s Rewards for Justice programme is offering the financial incentive alongside possible relocation for individuals who provide relevant intelligence.

In a statement published on its official X account, CENTCOM said the offer covers information about Iran’s nuclear infrastructure, equipment and associated personnel, including members of its scientific community.

The programme also seeks intelligence concerning the movement of such personnel and materials.

The initiative comes amid heightened tensions between Washington and Tehran over Iran’s nuclear activities, following months of military confrontation and continuing diplomatic efforts to prevent further escalation.

The US State Department, in explaining the offer, raised concerns about Iran’s compliance with its safeguards obligations to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

According to the department, the situation has affected the agency’s continuity of knowledge regarding Iran’s production and inventory of critical nuclear components, including centrifuges used in uranium enrichment.

However, US authorities have not publicly specified the precise criteria for determining which information would qualify for the maximum $20 million reward.

The Rewards for Justice programme was established in 1984 as part of the State Department’s efforts to obtain intelligence that could help protect American citizens and national security interests.

The announcement has also drawn attention because US President Donald Trump has repeatedly claimed that American military strikes had severely damaged or effectively destroyed Iran’s nuclear programme.

Nevertheless, Washington’s latest appeal for intelligence suggests that the US government continues to seek information about Iran’s nuclear infrastructure, its personnel and the status of its critical components.

The development comes as diplomatic initiatives involving regional mediators continue, with efforts reportedly underway to find a negotiated resolution to the confrontation.

Iranian authorities have maintained that they remain open to diplomatic engagement, although disagreements over nuclear activities, sanctions and security arrangements continue to complicate negotiations.

The latest US reward offer underscores the strategic importance Washington attaches to monitoring Iran’s nuclear capabilities as tensions in the Middle East remain elevated.
