AAC Seeks Tinubu’s Approval to Inaugurate Sowore’s 2027 Campaign Council at Aso Rock

The African Action Congress (AAC) has asked President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to approve the use of the Presidential Villa, Aso Rock, Abuja, for the inauguration of its Presidential Campaign Council on November 11, 2026, ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In a letter dated October 21, 2026, and signed by its National Secretary, Oshiokhue Philip Ikpeminoghena, the party also requested food, drinks and other logistical support for participants at the proposed event.
The AAC said the request was based on the principles of multiparty democracy, political inclusiveness, fairness and equal treatment of political parties.

The party also cited arrangements reportedly extended to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for a similar political engagement, arguing that public institutions should serve all Nigerians without partisan discrimination.

The proposed inauguration is part of the party’s preparations for the 2027 presidential election, in which its presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, is expected to contest.

The party urged the Presidency to consider its request and provide information on the applicable procedures and conditions for approval.

As of the time of filing this report, no response from the Presidency was contained in the letter made available to the media.
