Operatives of the Zone 12 Intelligence Unit of the Nigeria Police Force have arrested five suspects allegedly found in possession of human eyes and suspected ritual materials in Bauchi State.
The suspects were reportedly apprehended during an intelligence-led operation by operatives of the unit as part of ongoing efforts to tackle criminal and ritual-related activities in the state.
Sources familiar with the operation said human eyes and other items suspected to be connected to ritual practices were recovered from the suspects during the operation.
The arrest has heightened concerns over the activities of suspected ritual networks operating within and around Bauchi State, particularly amid growing public anxiety over cases involving missing persons and alleged ritual crimes.
The suspects are currently in police custody and are expected to undergo further interrogation as investigators work to establish the origin of the recovered human remains, their intended use and whether the suspects are connected to other criminal networks.
Police authorities are expected to provide further details on the operation, including the identities of the suspects and the outcome of the investigation.
