Hon. Aliyu Betara, Member of the House of Representatives, has formally commenced his campaign for re-election ahead of the 2027 General Elections, calling for unity and continued support from his constituents.
Speaking at the campaign flag-off, Betara expressed appreciation to the people of his constituency for what he described as their unwavering support, trust and solidarity over the years.
He said the confidence reposed in him by his constituents remained a major source of strength and motivation in his efforts to represent their interests at the National Assembly.
Betara also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what he described as his administration's commitment to infrastructure development and improving the welfare of Nigerians.
He particularly welcomed the approval of the Biu–Gombe Dual Highway Project, saying the project would enhance connectivity, facilitate the movement of people and goods, and stimulate economic activities across communities in the region.
The federal lawmaker, however, appealed to President Tinubu to give favourable consideration to the Biu–Damaturu Road, describing it as a critical route linking communities in the area with Maiduguri and other parts of the country.
Turning to the 2027 political contest, Betara urged his supporters and constituents to remain united and support President Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, the Borno State governorship candidate, Engr. Mustapha Gubio, Senator Ali Ndume and himself.
He stressed that unity, courage and collective commitment would be crucial to securing victory at the polls.
The campaign flag-off attracted a strong turnout of supporters, signalling an early mobilisation ahead of the 2027 elections.
Betara thanked the people for their continued confidence and pledged to sustain his representation and advocacy for development across the constituency.
