Tinubu Orders Accelerated Action Against Insecurity, Reaffirms Commitment to National Security

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration's commitment to tackling insecurity across Nigeria, directing security agencies to intensify operations against terrorists, bandits, kidnappers and other criminal elements threatening peace in different parts of the country.
The President gave the directive during a high-level security briefing with heads of the nation's security and intelligence agencies in Abuja, where he reviewed the country's security situation and ongoing military operations.
Tinubu stressed that the protection of lives and property remains the foremost responsibility of government, assuring Nigerians that the Federal Government will continue to provide the armed forces and other security agencies with the necessary resources to carry out their constitutional responsibilities effectively.
He also commended the military and other security personnel for their sacrifices in the fight against insurgency and criminality, while urging them to sustain the momentum until lasting peace is restored across the country.
According to the President, improved intelligence sharing, stronger inter-agency collaboration and community participation remain critical to addressing emerging security threats.
Security chiefs briefed the President on ongoing operations in various regions of the country, including efforts to combat terrorism in the North-East, banditry in the North-West, kidnapping in the North-Central, and oil theft in the Niger Delta.
The meeting also reviewed measures aimed at enhancing border security, protecting critical national infrastructure and improving the welfare of security personnel.
The renewed commitment comes amid growing public concern over recent security incidents in parts of the country, with many Nigerians calling for more decisive action to restore peace and stability.
Analysts say sustained military operations, coupled with improved intelligence gathering and stronger cooperation between federal and state authorities, will be crucial in achieving long-term security and national development.
