APC Christian Leaders Forum Pledges Bloc Votes for Tinubu, Abubakar Ahead of 2027

The Bauchi State chapter of the National APC Christian Leaders Forum of Nigeria (NACLFON) has pledged to mobilise substantial grassroots support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and former Bauchi State Governor, Dr. Muhammad Abdullahi Abubakar, SAN, ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The commitment was made on Sunday at a strategic meeting held at Amazing Grace Baptist Church, along the ATBU Teaching Hospital Road in Bauchi, where hundreds of members, Local Government Area (LGA) coordinators and political stakeholders endorsed the forum’s “Operation Go for 50” mobilisation strategy.

The forum also resolved to integrate its presidential and governorship mobilisation efforts into a unified grassroots campaign structure ahead of the elections.

The three-hour meeting, which lasted from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., attracted coordinators from all 20 LGAs of the state, clergy, community leaders, new members and other stakeholders.

Addressing the gathering, the Bauchi State Coordinator of NACLFON, Apostle Daniel Yusuf Adamu, said the state chapter would align its activities with the forum’s national target of mobilising nine million votes for President Tinubu’s re-election.

He described “Operation Go for 50” as NACLFON’s grassroots mobilisation template designed to translate political support into measurable electoral results.

According to him, the same mobilisation structure would be deployed in Bauchi to support Dr. Abubakar and his running mate under the M.A./Farouk ticket.

«“This is not two separate tracks. It is one grassroots machine serving both the presidential and state tickets. Our task is to reach communities, activate members, evaluate our mobilisation and translate commitments into votes,” Apostle Adamu said.»

He said the chapter would move beyond periodic meetings by establishing a structured grassroots network capable of monitoring mobilisation activities and measuring progress from community to community.

At the meeting, LGA coordinators presented reports on their ongoing grassroots activities and reaffirmed their commitment to the M.A./Farouk ticket in 2027, while maintaining support for the forum’s Operation Go for 50 presidential mobilisation campaign.

The leadership also constituted committees and approved budgets for mobilisation activities across the state.

According to the organisers, regular and real-time evaluation would be adopted to identify mobilisation gaps, strengthen grassroots structures and improve the effectiveness of both the presidential and governorship campaigns.

The meeting also witnessed the formal admission of hundreds of new members into the organisation, a development the organisers described as evidence of growing Christian participation in civic and political engagement in Bauchi State.

Among the dignitaries at the gathering were a resident pastor, a Catholic youth leader and other community stakeholders. Muslim guests were also acknowledged, with organisers describing their participation as a demonstration of the forum’s commitment to peaceful interfaith engagement and political coexistence.

As part of the event, about 70 members received financial assistance, with priority reportedly given to tertiary students and women within Bauchi metropolis.

Participants who travelled from other LGAs were also provided with refreshments and transport assistance.

In a communique issued at the end of the meeting, the Bauchi chapter reiterated its commitment to strengthening its structures across all 20 LGAs and ensuring measurable grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 elections.

The resolution stated:

«“We are building towards two victories: the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu under Operation Go for 50, and the election of His Excellency Dr. Muhammad Abdullahi Abubakar, SAN, and his running mate on the M.A./Farouk ticket as Governor of Bauchi State.”»

With the 2027 general elections approaching, NACLFON Bauchi said it would commence a phased programme of grassroots mobilisation, membership tracking and voter education across wards and communities.

LGA coordinators have been mandated to submit regular reports covering mobilisation targets, community outreach and voter education activities as the organisation moves to consolidate its grassroots structures ahead of the elections.
