The Emir of Lame in Bauchi State, Alhaji Aliyu Yakubu Lame, has congratulated Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed on the occasion of his 68th birthday, describing his administration as one marked by peace, progress and meaningful collaboration.

The Emir conveyed the congratulatory message in a statement issued by his Chief of Staff, Babangida Suleiman Lame, and made available to journalists in Bauchi.

Speaking on behalf of his family, district heads, traditional rulers, the Lame Emirate Council and the people of the emirate, the monarch commended the governor's leadership and his relationship with traditional institutions and the people of the state.

According to him, the governor's tenure has witnessed significant transformation in traditional leadership and strengthened collaboration between the government and traditional institutions.

“Your leadership has witnessed a remarkable transformation in traditional leadership and meaningful collaboration with the people of Bauchi State. This collaboration has contributed to the transformation of the state, while your guidance and statesmanlike disposition have remained a source of inspiration to many of us,” the Emir said.

He described Governor Mohammed as a leader who listens, a builder with vision and a governor committed to delivering the dividends of democracy to the people.

“Your Excellency, your journey is one of wisdom, courage and unwavering service to the people of Bauchi State. You are a leader who listens, a builder who dreams and a governor who delivers dividends of democracy to the electorate,” he said.

The monarch also commended the relative peace in Bauchi State, saying the state had continued to enjoy a peaceful atmosphere under the governor's leadership.

“At 68, your vision continues to inspire, your leadership unites, and your legacy shines brighter across our beloved Bauchi State. Under your leadership, Bauchi State enjoys a peaceful atmosphere, becoming one of the most peaceful states in the country,” he said.

The Emir prayed that Almighty Allah would grant Governor Mohammed long life, good health, greater wisdom, strength and continued success in the discharge of his responsibilities.

He also prayed for divine guidance and greater capacity for the governor to continue serving the people and contributing to the development of Bauchi State and the wellbeing of its citizens.

Beyond the birthday celebration, the monarch used the occasion to call on leaders at all levels to provide good governance and ensure that the nation's resources are utilised for the benefit of the people.

He expressed concern over the hardship and deprivation experienced by many Nigerians despite the country's abundant natural and human resources, describing the situation as unacceptable.

“It is abnormal for Nigerians to be surrounded by abundant resources and yet experience hardship and deprivation,” the Emir said, while urging leaders to prioritise the welfare and wellbeing of citizens.

The traditional ruler also appealed to Nigerians to remain hopeful and steadfast, expressing optimism that Almighty Allah would, at the appropriate time, restore hope to the country and guide it towards peace, progress and prosperity.

He prayed that the governor's life and public service would continue to be a source of greater benefit to the people of Bauchi State and Nigeria.
