EFCC Arraigns Bello Bodejo Over Six-Count Charge in Abuja
Nigeria’s Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on July 9 arraigned Bello Bodejo before the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja over a six-count charge.
Bodejo pleaded not guilty to all six counts brought against him, thereby setting the stage for further proceedings in the case.
The charges form part of the EFCC’s ongoing prosecution of the defendant, with the commission seeking to establish its allegations before the court.
Following the arraignment, the matter was adjourned for further proceedings, allowing the prosecution and defence to continue with the judicial process.
Bodejo remains entitled to the presumption of innocence until the prosecution proves the allegations against him beyond reasonable doubt, in accordance with Nigerian law.
The case is expected to continue as the Federal High Court considers the evidence and arguments to be presented by both sides.
